Sir Richard Branson is honored

At the Green Curriculum Launch, by FUEL Filmmakers Josh Tickell and Rebecca Harrel, Sir Richard Branson was honored as an Earth Teacher.  As a business person focused on sustainable change in the transportation sector, Branson has committed millions of dollars in bio fuel research and application.

The US Team was able to attend the event thanks to John Brown and the Green Book, and I was lucky enough to be seated next to Branson during the event.  Up close and personal shooting!

Melissa

Screening tonight at AMC Empire 25 in Times Square

John Brown from the Green Book invited us to attend and shoot the Q&A with Josh Tickell, the filmmaker behind Fuel and the Veggie Van. Its going to be an amazing night – the Q&A panel includes Josh Tickell and Rebecca Harrell, as well as Brent Baker of Tristate, NYC Councilmember James Gennaro, Alexandra Jamieson Healthy Chef Alex and wife of Morgan Spurloff from Super Size Me.  We’ll try to get quotes from them all on their definition of sustainability.

The film will screen at 7 pm at the AMC Empire 25 Theaters in Times Square, 234 West 42nd St., and you can purchase tickets here!

Peace,
Melissa

NY1 Interview, Take 2

September 14th, 2009

We re-shot our NY1 interview today on the High Line with Stephanie Simon, the Arts Beat reporter.  I knew there had to be a reason why it should be re-shot and it became clear when Jesse did part of the interview in Spanish (he’s pretty good!).  So now we’ll be shown on two local NYC stations – NY1 and Noticias.

It was a touch sunnier this time around, and I think we did fantastic – kept our comments short and on message. Jesse is the most comfortable on screen, and he shined.  (Plus he has the best hair out of all of us!)

So stay tuned – the pieces should air Friday or next week!

Pretty much sums up the Lifeline too!

We were interviewed by award winning reporter Stephanie Simon from NY1.  We agreed to shoot on The High Line, an urban renewal project, to highlight the kind of projects we are interested in covering.

Stephanie was a great interviewer and we had fun shooting her shooting us.  We discussed the project, why we are doing this, and the fact that its completely volunteer really surprised her.  We all feel this is a necessary project, so money is not the driving motivator here.  We really want to be the change we’d like to see in the world, and modeling will hopefully inspire others to do the same. » Read more: NY1 Interviews The NY Team
